Truly, Deeply Saddened

I am truly, deeply saddened to learn the loss of my friend Tim. I was introduced to him when he was assigned to assist my attorney with preparations for trial. Spending long days, nights, weekends and countless hours during this very difficult time, Tim never once displayed any sign of fatigue. Regardless of Tim’s trial experience, I knew he was a perfect fit. Tim always remained alert, confident and happily shared his vast knowledge of law as he eagerly participated inside and out of the courtroom. Tim asked if I wouldn’t mind videotaping him serving papers to the opposing party who needless to say, ever played by the rules. When we arrived to the defendant’s home I remained on the sidewalk filming as he knocked on the front door, once the dog started to bark Tim could hear the defendant inside attempting to quiet it down. He then starts yelling to the defendant by his last name “I know you’re in there, I can hear you trying to quiet the dog, just open the door” then turns to me with this huge smile on his face as we both start laughing in hysterics. Neither one of us returned to the car with a dry eye. Another fond moment of Tim that comes to mind was when Doug asked him to finalize jury instructions with opposing counsel prior to sending the jury into deliberations. After sometime Tim returned from a conference room with this smirk on his face and say’s “We got everything we wanted, this is going to be good” I could see the glimmer of pride in his eyes and felt his confidence. Here again, another job well done. In some odd way Tim would know when I was about to peak with stress. Somehow he would find a way to either crack a joke about the opposing party; counsel or would calmly put his hand on my shoulder and share words of comfort. This was Tim’s simple way of removing pressure which always seem to work. No amount of money or words can express my appreciation for his kind gestures. In closing I would like to say, Tim may have given each of us the appearance of a gentle man, but his actions to mankind are a mirror image of an angel. Simply put, he has earned at a young age what most strive for in a lifetime; “WINGS”. I truly have been blessed with the opportunity to establish a friendship with a man who has touched so many in such a short period of time. As the story goes, only the good die young. Thank you Tim, your place on earth will never be forgotten and always remain in our hearts. Love, The Palladino Family
